WSQ Security Course Assessment | Postpone

At KnowledgeTree, we focus on learners’ growth and development of professionals in the security industry. Being in the industry for more than 15 years, we have produced a high passing rate (more than 90% passes) with our experienced trainers on deck. Nevertheless, there may be a handful of learners who may require more practice and revision before sitting for their assessment, or they are unable to sit for their assessment due to unforeseen circumstances such as feeling unwell on the assessment day. As such, KnowledgeTree Training Centre practices flexibility and understands our learner’s situation by introducing a “postpone” option for the respective individuals. However, the postpone requests will be reviewed by KnowledgeTree’s customer service personnel and the management team on a case-by-case basis.

Learners who require more revision

If learners decide to postpone their assessment after attending all the lessons due to the lack of confidence to sit for assessment, he/she may inform their trainer and/or our customer service personnel to review the request and will be advised accordingly. Depending on the postpone request outcome, our customer service team will be able to reschedule the learner’s assessment for the next available course intake.

Feeling unwell on the assessment day

If the learner is unable to sit for an assessment due to feeling unwell, he/she is required to produce a copy of their Medical Certificate (MC) or doctor’s memo that clearly states he/she is unwell on the day of the assessment. All documentation is required to be submitted to KnowledgeTree Training Centre via email (registration@ktree.com.sg) within 3 working days of the learner’s assessment date. Otherwise, he/she will be charged $75.00 or $140.00 (the assessment fees vary according to the different courses) to retake the assessment.

Postponement Process

Once the postponement request status is approved, we strongly encourage our learners to attend the full course duration as a refresher training at no additional cost. Otherwise, he/she must attend on the last training day of the postponed class to be eligible to sit for the security course assessment. If a learner fails to attend the last day of the postponed class, KnowledgeTree will not be able to register him/her for the assessment.

Postponement Terms & Conditions

Please note that learners are only allowed to postpone their security course assessment up to 60 days from his/her original course start date. In the event that learners intend to continue the security course and complete their assessment beyond 60 days, an appeal will have to be made and each appeal is considered on a case-by-case basis. The appeal must be made in the form of writing or email to admin@ktree.com.sg for KnowledgeTree’s management review and approval. In the event the appeal is not submitted or not approved, the learner may have to bear the course fees in full to continue the course.

How to avoid postponement?

Although some cases are unavoidable due to unforeseen circumstances (eg, medical illness, personal emergencies), it is best if learners can avoid postponing or withdrawing from the security course. We understand that some learners may require more time for revision, therefore, we have shared some tips for KnowledgeTree learners to prepare for their WSQ Security Course assessment in the following article.

What happens after learners have completed the assessment?

Upon completion and passing our security course, learners will be notified by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), either via email or SMS within 14 days from the date of course completion that his/her E-Certificate is ready for printing. Learners may print their certificates at KnowledgeTree Training centre at no cost. However, for the subsequent printing, learners will be charged accordingly. For more information on Security Certificates, you may refer to the following article.

Interested learners registration for Security Course

If you do not have any prior experience, you will need to complete the following 3 courses under the Basic Licensing Units (BLUs) with KnowledgeTree to be eligible for a security licence and before a licensed security officer in Singapore.

Guard and Patrol (Provide Guard and Patrol Services) – PGPS
Incident Response (Handle Security Incidents and Services) – HSIS
Threat Observation (Recognise Terrorist Threat) – RTT

Once learners have passed the 3 BLUs to attain their security licence, they are able to further upgrade themselves by enrolling into our Senior Security Officer(SSO) courses or even our events security courses which allows them to qualify for events security jobs.
