Progressive Wage Model for Security Personnel

The Progressive Wage Model (PWM) is a five-level career progression framework developed by the Security Tripartite Cluster (STC) to support security officers in achieving stable incomes and work-life balance. It encourages skill enhancement and progression through a productivity-based wage pathway.

For aspiring Senior Security Officers (SSOs), the journey begins as a Security Officer (SO). To qualify for the SSO rank, candidates must first complete essential training courses: Guard and Patrol, Access Control Management (Provide Guard and Patrol Services and Operate Basic Security Equipment), Handle Security Incidents and Services (HSIS), and Recognise Terrorist Threats (RTT). These courses constitute the Basic Licensing Units (BLUs) necessary for entry into the security sector.

The PWM career progression in the security industry includes the ranks of Security Officer, Senior Security Officer, Security Supervisor, Senior Security Supervisor, and ultimately Chief Security Officer. Individuals must first apply for a Security Officer licence to begin this progression. For more information, please visit this page.
