Senior Security Officer (SSO)

The second rank of the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) is a Senior Security Officer (SSO). An individual who wants to become a Senior Security Officer (SSO) will need to have at least 6-months of experience as a Security Officer (SO) to meet the Year-In-Grade (YIG) requirement and fulfil the training requirements.

The Progressive Wage Model (PWM) is a five-level career progression model which was developed by the Security Tripartite Cluster STC) to help security officers achieve a stable income and work-life balance by encouraging security officers to upgrade their skills and progress through the productivity-based wage progression pathway.

Job scope of a Senior Security Officer (SSO)

The general job scope of a Senior Security Officer (SSO) include:

  • All of Security Officer (SO) duties and;
  • Incident response to more complex and large-scale safety and security incidents
  • Manage security and safety systems (eg. Central alarm system, Fire alarm system, Lift control system, carpark system)
  • Regulating traffic
  • CCTV/ Central Alarm Monitoring/ Fire Command Centre monitoring
  • Maintain CCTV storage libraries
  • Preservation of evidence
  • Assist in law enforcement

How to become a Senior Security Officer (SSO)?
