HSIS – Incident Response, or Handle Security Incidents and Services, is one of the three basic courses to become a Security Officer (SO). It is part of the basic security industry entry requirements alongside Guard and Patrol, Access Control Management (Provide Guard and Patrol Services and Operate Basic Security Equipment) and Threat Observation (Recognise Terrorist Threats). Incident Response equips aspiring officers with the necessary knowledge and application skills to handle various types of security-related incidents based on the nature of the occurrence, and apply the correct procedures.
This course is only for the low wage workers in the PWM-Security Sector.
- Perform basic standard situational procedures and protocols that security personnel need to know upon entering the security industry.
- Handle challenging incidents as part of their security duties in accordance with organisational standards.
- This training course serves as one of three mandatory units required for obtaining a Security Officer (SO) licence to join the security industry.
- Managing incidents involving damage to facilities and equipment
- Handling fire-related incidents
- Handling crime-related incidents
- Responding to medical or first-aid related incidents
- Handling bomb or IED (Improvised Explosive Device) threats
- Searching for, apprehending and arresting suspects
- Giving evidence in court
1. Assessment will be conducted by an independent assessor (examiner) from *POLWEL (*Police Welfare Co-operative)
2. Assessment format: Role-Play and Oral Questions
3. Assessment duration for Incident Response / Handle Security Incidents and Services (HSIS) is 2 hours and 5 minutes.
1. Trainee must be able to speak, write and understand simple English as the courses are conducted in English.
Learners are required to complete the full training duration for each module and sit for the assessment.
Learners must maintain 100% attendance and achieve a ‘Competent’ rating in the assessment.

REFUND POLICY
Course Fee refunds has to be made at least 3 working days before course start date. Course fees are non-refundable once your a]endance is confirmed.
Reassessment Policy
Learners who fail to obtain a competent result are required to pay for the reassessment fees and retake assessment within 60 days from the original course date. Otherwise, learners are required to pay the balance of the full course fee if they choose to withdraw from the course.
