Security Surveillance Management (Perform Remote Surveillance Function) - PRSF

Introduction

Senior Security Officer (SSO) is the second rank of the Progressive Wage Model (PWM). Security officers who are interested to upgrade themselves to SSOs will be required to at least have 1-year experience as a Security Officer (SO) and fulfil the training requirements.

Enhanced Training Requirements for SSO

Security Surveillance Management (Perform Remote Surveillance Function) – PRSF is a new module which is introduced to enhance officer’s technology-related competency.

From 1 July 2023, SOs who are planning to upgrade themselves to SSOs are required to complete 2 mandatory modules as follows:

  1. Security Surveillance Management (Perform Remote Surveillance Function)
  2. Deterrence (Manage Disorderly Conduct & Threatening Behaviour)

Existing SSOs are required to complete Security Surveillance Management module by 31 Dec 2025.

What to expect of the PRSF course?

Learners will be able to use the different types of security remote surveillance technologies to analyse and profile crime types. Additionally, learners will be able to perform incident escalation and evidence collecting using security surveillance recording.

At the end of the course, learners will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to handle and operated security surveillance equipment to remotely detect and prevent crimes in high-risk areas.
